Novak orders oil firms to raise output of winter diesel fuel

MOSCOW, Oct 16 (PRIME) -- Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has ordered the Russian oil companies to raise production of winter diesel fuel for the internal market, the government said in a statement on Monday.

Novak chaired a meeting with the representatives of the oil companies, the Energy Ministry, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, and the Agriculture Ministry to discuss the situation on the national fuel market, the government said.

“The oil companies were ordered to raise production of winter diesel fuel for the needs of the internal market and to deliver it to Russia’s northern territories,” the statement read.

Novak also ordered the Agriculture Ministry and the regional authorities to continue monitoring prices of the middlemen, and the antimonopoly service to inspect and cut prices in the regions that have high prices for fuel.
